The Hangover Part 2 - Just as Good as the Original

Tod Phillips seems to have an inexhaustible source of inspiration for his movies. Excited by his tremendous success of Hangover comedy, he at once got to the work to create the sequel Hangover Part II and is already working over the final part of this trilogy.

With reference to all those crazy events exposed in a cult comedy Hangover, four friends Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug go to exotic Thailand for Stu's wedding. After an insane stag party in Las Vegas two years ago, they decide not to tempt fate a second time, and therefore they plan to have a very modest and simple celebration in Bangkok. But as it usually happens, the plans go awry sometimes. What happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas. But what is happening in Beijing – it's a real madness!

It's quite difficult to give a brief Hangover Part II review of those events going up there as it would sound so mixed, complicated and hard to trace. However, while watching the comedy you won't be lost, rather involved in it. The second part is very much the same as the first one, so if you like one then you will find the other quite entertaining too.

The same as Part I, Hangover Part II comedy pursues a single aim – to make you laughing and it copes with this task in a perfect way. Those longing for deep philosophy to get food for thought won't go to watch a comedy, they would rather opt for a drama movie. But if you really is looking for a film to relax and have fun, then this comedy will be a nice treat, especially if you have already familiar with the characters. All of them are here again, but in a different location.

What this film lacks though is the development in the characters. One would expect Stu and his friends to learn something from his previous bad experience of making parties like that in Las Vegas, the beginning is so promising but that's it – the same again. A bit of change would be nice for the whole wolf pack and for viewers as well. Probably, this is kinda of sequel syndrome, when Tod Phillips tried to recreate the success of Part I following the same scheme. Still, this is a funny, hilarious comedy that will make you laughing a lot.
